After all, the Ugly American was published almost exactly 50 years ago. Half of the world is just as clueless about America's greatness and decency as they ever were. Just remember, not everyone hates America, only the international left and the Islamists. And France, Germany, and Canada all elected very pro-US governments, not to mention the great allies we have in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Poland, and the largest democracy on earth, India, so the world is coming around. Don't worry about the international left -- they will always hate America, since our values are the opposite of theirs. Not all that much has changed.
