It is a time honored tradition and it makes fundraising and contributions more successful than anonymity. It is a tradition that transcends all races and religions. Why shouldn’t Jack enjoy the benefits of his labors. The reason for acting is unimportant. What is important is the result of that action. It is also a way of saying thank you for the gods of fortune who made it possible for successful achievers to leave a legacy of meaning to the future generations.
